The mission of the division of Innate Immunity is the investigation, analysis and characterization of activation mechanisms of the innate immune system through microbes, microbial structures and allergens. In particular, we examine the interplay and communication of epithelial and dendritic cells with each other and the adaptive immune system and the consequences of this activation for lung diseases such as allergy and asthma.
