Mentoring Award for Leibniz Chair Prof. Anna Maria Mandalakas

Professor Anna-Maria Mandalakas, Visiting Professor in the Clinical Infectious Diseases Research Group and Leibniz Chair at the Research Center Borstel, has been awarded the 2023 Mentor Award of the Department of Paediatrics at Baylor College of Medicine - Texas Children's Hospital in Houston, Texas, USA. She is Head of the Department of Global Health and Professor of Pediatrics at Baylor College of Medicine. With around 1000 beds and more than 1500 specialists, Texas Children's Hospital is one of the largest and highest ranked children's hospitals in the world.

This year's Mentor Award honors two faculty members who have made outstanding contributions to the career advancement of colleagues. Professor Mandalakas also receives this award for her international commitment to supporting young colleagues in various African countries.
