The race, completed by teams of ten runners, combines endurance, coordination and team spirit along the beautiful route between the two coasts of Schleswig-Holstein. The Borstel team delivered a respectable performance, finishing 206th out of a total of 800 participating teams,  an excellent result in a large and highly motivated field.

In addition to the athletic achievement, the day offered an outstanding opportunity for team-building. Colleagues supported one another throughout all stages of the relay, shared the excitement of the race and celebrated their collective achievement at the finish line in Damp. The event created space for informal exchange outside the everyday research environment and strengthened the sense of cohesion within the group.

“Taking part in the Run between the Seas was a wonderful experience for our team,” said PD Dr. Thomas Theo Brehm, who organized the participation of the Research Center Borstel team. “Everyone contributed with great enthusiasm, whether on the course, during the transitions or in supporting the runners. A place in the top third of the field is a result we can be very proud of. Most important, however, were the fun we had together and the team spirit that carried us from the North Sea to the Baltic Sea.”
